POI management
Introduction
The “Points of Interest” (POI) interface is a space dedicated to managing strategic locations on the map. It offers a clear and intuitive presentation which allows you to easily visualize and manipulate the different points of interest. The interface displays POIs as visual markers on the map, customizable with distinctive names, colors and icons, providing an organized view of areas of importance to the user.
Each POI is graphically represented on the map for quick identification, and pop-up information windows can be opened to access location details. The interface allows for smooth management of points of interest, with easy access to their settings to modify or delete locations as needed. It fits naturally into the platform's geolocalized management ecosystem, offering a global view of critical points for the user.
Adding Points of Interest
When you click on a map location in the Points of Interest (POI) interface, apopupappears, allowing you to create and customize a new POI with a detailed form.
Add POI Popup Details
-
Name: Enter the POI name for unique identification.
-
Band: Choose a group for the POI. Groups are user-defined to organize POIs in a structured way.
-
kind: Select the POI type. The types are customizable to better classify POIs according to their nature.
-
icon: Personalize the POI by choosing an icon that will visually represent it on the map.
-
Alert Distance: Define a distance (in meters) around the POI, which determines how close vehicles must come for their passage to be recorded.
-
Passage Alerts: Configure the recording of passages by the POI. Alerts are saved in a report called"passage report by POI". You can activate:
- Entry Alert:Record when a vehicle enters the area around the POI.
- Exit Alert: Record when a vehicle leaves this area.
- both: Record both types of passages.
-
Time Exceeded: Digiparc automatically calculates the time that each vehicle spent near the POI by subtracting the departure time from the arrival time.
-
Comments: Add comments to explain the purpose of the POI or to leave notes for other users.
Fullscreen
The "Full Screen" functionality in the "Points of Interest" interface allows you to enlarge the map display to 100% of the available space on the screen. This option is particularly useful for having a complete and detailed view of points of interest without being hindered by other elements of the interface. By activating full screen mode, the user can navigate more easily between different POIs, while enjoying an immersive viewing experience optimized for better location management.
Display area
The "Zone display" functionality in the "Points of interest" interface allows you to manage the visibility of zones already drawn in the interface dedicated to zones. This option gives the user the ability to show or hide these areas based on navigation needs. By activating this feature, previously defined areas appear on the map alongside points of interest, providing a combined view of areas of operation and POIs. If necessary, areas can be hidden to provide a clearer, unobstructed view of only points of interest.
Bulk Import and Export
The mass import and export functionality of points of interest in the Digiparc “Points of Interest” interface is a powerful tool designed to facilitate the efficient management of geolocated data. It allows users to quickly manage a large number of points of interest (POI) by providing flexible options for exporting and importing data.
Bulk export
This feature allows you to export points of interest created on Digiparc in several file formats, adapted to different data processing or sharing needs:
- Excel: Ideal for reporting and analysis, this format allows you to organize POIs in a clean spreadsheet, with columns dedicated to each attribute of the POI, such as name, coordinates, type, etc.
- JSON and GeoJSON: These formats are useful for data exchange between systems and applications. THEJSONis particularly appreciated for its structured format which facilitates integration into development tools, while theGeoJSONis specially designed for geospatial data, useful for mapping applications.
- CSV: This light and readable format is widely used for data exchange, allowing easy integration with various analysis or management tools.
Bulk import
In addition to export, Digiparc allows mass import of points of interest from filesExcel. This feature is designed to make it simple to add many POIs at once, avoiding manually entering each point of interest individually.
When importing, you must follow apredefined canvaswhich specifies the required fields for each POI, such as name, geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude), category, and other relevant attributes. By following this format, you ensure that the data is correctly imported and integrated into the application without errors.
Satellite mode
The map view switching feature allows users to switch between different map view modes to meet their specific needs. In particular, this functionality allows you to switch to modesatellite.
Satellite mode provides a detailed and realistic view of the map by displaying aerial images captured by satellite. This mode provides an accurate visual representation of terrain, buildings, and other geographic features, providing an enriched perspective compared to the traditional map view.
Zoom
The zoom feature allows you to adjust the map view to get more details or a wider view. You can zoom in two ways:
- Zoom in and out:Use the buttons+to enlarge the map and-to reduce it, allowing precise adjustment of the level of detail.
- Mouse gesture:Scroll the wheel forward to zoom in and backward to zoom out, providing smooth and fast handling.
Points of interest manipulation table
The Points of Interest manipulation table provides a structured and interactive view of POIs, making them easier to manage within the interface. This table includes several key elements for effective manipulation of points of interest:
Table Components
-
Dropdown of POI Groups: Located at the top left of the table, this drop-down menu allows you to select and display POIs according to different defined groups. This allows you to filter points of interest for more targeted management.
-
Search by Name box: Next to the dropdown, a search box allows you to quickly find a POI by entering its name. This makes it easier to navigate to specific points of interest without having to look through the entire board.
-
Options Menu (Three Dots): For each POI record in the table, a three-dot menu offers two options:
- To modify: Allows you to update the POI details and its attributes.
- DELETE: Offers the possibility to delete the POI from the table.
-
Display Columns:
-
POI Name: The column displays the POI name as a clickable link. Clicking on this name takes you directly to the point on the map for quick viewing and contextual management.
-
Visibility Checkbox: This column contains check boxes to manage the visibility of POIs. You can choose to show or hide each POI individually or do it in bulk for more efficient management.
-
Benefits
- Easy Filtering and Search: The dropdown and the search box allow you to quickly navigate among the POIs.
- Contextual Management: Menu options and clickable links make it easy to edit and view POIs directly on the map.
- Visibility Control: Checkboxes offer flexible and customizable management of POI visibility.
This table is designed to simplify the management of points of interest, making their handling more intuitive and efficient.
