Geographic Areas
Introduction
The Zones interface is a key feature that allows users to effectively create, edit and manage zones within the application. This interface offers a wide range of functionality for area customization and monitoring, with an emphasis on flexibility and accuracy in geospatial data management.
Main Features
-
Creation and Modification of Zones: You can create new zones or modify existing zones according to your needs. Each zone can be defined by various attributes, such as the name, the group it belongs to, and the color of the zone for easy visual identification.
-
Attributes area: Each zone can have several customizable attributes:
- Name: Uniquely identifies the area.
- Band: Categorizes areas into groups for more structured management.
- Color: Allows you to choose a color for better visualization on the map.
-
Vehicle Monitoring Data: The interface allows you to configure specific data for vehicle monitoring in each zone:
- Maximum Speed: Set a maximum speed not to be exceeded for vehicles entering or moving in the area. This condition allows vehicle speed to be tracked and managed to ensure compliance with defined limits.
- Email Alerts: Configure email alerts to notify officials as soon as a vehicle enters or leaves the area. This allows immediate and responsive monitoring of important events.
-
Application of the Conditions: Speed conditions and alerts are applicable depending on the choice of vehicles selected. You can specify which vehicles should be monitored according to the criteria defined for each zone.
Creation and Modification of Zones
The functionalityCreation and Modification of Zonesallows you to define precise geographic areas directly on the Digiparc map. This functionality is essential for managing and monitoring activity, security or control areas within your fleet.
Drawing Zone Boundaries
In the map you canmanually draw the borders of each area. Thanks to intuitive tools, you have the possibility to draw the exact boundaries of the area according to your needs, by drawing free shapes or following specific paths. This allows you to precisely define the geographic extent of the area, whether it is small and localized or covers a large area.
Customizing Zones
Once the boundaries are drawn, each zone can be fully personalized according to its specific characteristics:
- Zone Name: Give a unique name to the zone to easily recognize it in the interface.
- Color: Choose a distinct color for the area so that it is clearly visible on the map.
- Band: Assign the zone to a group to make it easier to organize different zones.
Management of Alerts and Conditions
When creating or modifying a zone, you can also defineconditions related to vehicle monitoringin this area:
- Speed Limit: Impose a maximum speed for vehicles moving within the zone.
- Entry and Exit Alerts: Set up alerts to be notified when vehicles enter or leave the area.
These conditions are applied to selected vehicles, allowing you to track only vehicles of interest in the relevant area.
Editing Zones
Once the zone is created, it can be modified at any time. You can redraw its borders, change its name, its color or adjust the monitoring conditions according to the evolving needs of the operation.
Benefits
- Accuracy in Tracing: The ability to manually draw zone boundaries ensures precise geographic coverage.
- Flexibility and Control: You have full control over the creation and modification of zones, allowing personalized management of operations.
- Effective Monitoring: Alerts and conditions applied to vehicles in the zones ensure rigorous monitoring.
Vehicle Monitoring
The zone management interface allows you to configure specific parameters to monitor vehicles traveling in these zones. This monitoring data is essential to ensure compliance, security, and responsiveness of operations.
Maximum Speed
One of the key data that you can configure is themaximum speednot to exceed for vehicles in each zone:
- Definition of the Limit: You can set a precise maximum speed for each zone, depending on the specific requirements of the environment (for example, a residential zone or a construction zone).
- Speed Monitoring: Once the limit is configured, the interface monitors in real time the speed of vehicles entering or circulating in the zone. Any violation of the maximum speed can be recorded and reported, allowing vehicle compliance with restrictions to be tracked.
- Management and Security: This setting ensures that drivers respect speed limits, thereby contributing to safe operations, protection of property, and prevention of incidents.
Email Alerts
The interface also allows you to configureemail alertsfor real-time monitoring of vehicle events in each zone:
- Entry and Exit Notifications: You can configure notifications that will be sent by email to managers as soon as a vehicle enters or leaves the zone. This ensures areactive monitoring, allowing managers to be immediately informed of important movements.
- Responsiveness and Instant Management: Email alerts are ideal for quickly reacting to critical situations, such as the entry of an unauthorized vehicle into a restricted area or the unexpected exit of a vehicle from a security zone.
- Personalization of Containers: Alerts can be sent to specific people, based on their responsibilities in zone and fleet management.
Benefits
- Compliance and Security: Monitoring speed limits ensures vehicles follow the rules, reducing the risk of accidents or non-compliance.
- Real-Time Monitoring: Email alerts guarantee proactive management and enable immediate responsiveness to critical events.
- Total Customization: You can adjust these settings according to the specific needs of each area, providing maximum flexibility in managing operations.
Application of the Conditions
The functionalityApplication of the Conditionsallows you to set specific rules for monitoring vehicles in zones, applying speed criteria and alerts only to selected vehicles. This customization guarantees targeted and efficient management of your fleet.
Selection of Concerned Vehicles
You have the possibility to precisely select the vehicles that must be monitored in each zone:
- Choice of Vehicles: You can specify which vehicles should be subject to the maximum speed conditions or alerts configured for each zone. This selection allows for tailor-made management, adapted to operational needs.
- Flexibility and Customization: Whether you want to monitor only certain types of vehicles (e.g. heavy, utility, or service vehicles) or a specific group (e.g. vehicles assigned to a particular area), the interface offers you great flexibility.
Application of Speed Conditions
For the selected vehicles, themaximum speed conditionsautomatically apply:
- Targeted Monitoring: The speed of specified vehicles is monitored in real time in the area, ensuring that only these vehicles are subject to the defined rules.
- Reaction in the event of an overrun: If the maximum speed is exceeded, the vehicles concerned are reported, while other unselected vehicles are not affected by this rule.
Application of Alerts
TEAentry and exit alertsconfigured in the zone are also limited to the vehicles you have chosen:
- Custom Notifications: Email alerts are only sent to selected vehicles when they enter or leave the area. This avoids information overload and enables efficient monitoring of relevant vehicles.
- Effective Area Management: You can apply strict surveillance rules in certain areas for specific vehicles, while allowing more flexible management for other vehicles.
Benefits
- Precise Control: You have full control over which vehicles must be subject to strict or specific rules in each zone.
- Personalized Management: Vehicle monitoring can be tailored to your operational needs, targeting vehicles or vehicle groups of interest.
- Efficiency: Speed conditions and alerts are applied in a targeted manner, allowing for more efficient management and increased responsiveness in critical situations.
