Import Equipment
The equipment import functionality allows you to add multiple devices to the database in a single operation using a pre-formatted file, usually in Excel format. This option is ideal for:
- Initial integration of a large amount of equipment: When setting up a fleet, mass import makes it easier to quickly add equipment.
- Massive updating of information: When it is necessary to update data from many devices at the same time.
Step 1: Download and prepare the canvas
Prepare the Data File
- Download the model: A template file is available to ensure the correct format of the data. This file includes predefined columns, which must be respected to ensure error-free import.
- Respect the order of the columns: Required fields, such as description, and Purchase date, are clearly defined in the template. It is essential to follow this order.
Tips for the file :
- Fill in only one value per cell.
- Avoid empty lines.
- Respect the formats for amounts and dates (e.g. dd/mm/yyyy for dates).
Prerequisites: The file must be structured according to the system specifications, with the mandatory information (Name and Purchase Date).
Step 2: Load the file
Load File into System
- File selection: Click on “Browse” to choose the import file.
- Start the import: Press “Next” to load the data. A preview will show the total number of lines in the file and which ones will be imported.
Step 3: Check the imported data
- Summary table: After loading, a table displays the imported equipment with their information.
- Error detection: The system indicates if errors are present, allowing correction before validation.
- Last check: Check fields such as code, label, and supplier for each piece of equipment.
Step 4: Import vehicle equipment
- Finalize the import: Click on “Import” to validate and add the equipment to the database.
- Message confirmation: A message confirms the success of the import.
Benefits of this Feature
This mass import significantly reduces manual entry time, minimizing errors and optimizing equipment management. It is particularly useful for large fleets or regular equipment updates.
