Exclusion Rest
Exclusion Rest
Excluding rest days in leave requests is an option that ensures more precise and transparent management of employee leave. When an employee submits a leave request, the system automatically excludes predefined days off, i.e. days on which the employee is not normally expected to work, such as weekends, public holidays or days specific to the employment contract. This ensures that leave is calculated correctly and that no days not worked are incorrectly counted.
Why is this exclusion important?
This option aims to clarify and simplify the calculation of leave days. Indeed, for a company that has flexible work schedules or specific days off for each employee, it can be difficult to accurately track which days employees actually take time off. For example, if an employee has a regular day off each week, such as Saturday or Sunday, they may be frustrated to see that day counted as a day off, even though they would not have worked that day anyway.
The automatic exclusion of days of rest ensures that leave is calculated taking into account only the days actually worked. For example, if an employee requests time off from Wednesday to Sunday, but Sunday is a day off for them, the system will automatically exclude that day from the time off period, counting only the days actually worked, such as Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. This avoids “losing” a day off on a day when the employee would not be at work anyway.
