Exclusion Holidays
Exclusion Holidays
Excluding public holidays in the leave request process simplifies the management of absences by ensuring that public holidays are not counted as days of leave taken. This option ensures that employees have a clear and accurate view of their available leave balance, without confusion with days when the business is closed or not operational due to public holidays.
Why exclude public holidays?
Public holidays represent periods when the business is closed, and employees are not required to work. If these days are counted as leave days, this could lead to errors in the calculation of employees' leave balance. Indeed, an employee might think they have taken more leave than they actually have left, simply because a public holiday was mistakenly included in the calculation. Excluding these days from the leave request process therefore ensures more precise and transparent leave management.
By excluding public holidays, the system allows only the days actually taken by the employee as leave to be included. For example, if an employee takes a week off that includes a public holiday, the holiday will not be counted as a day off, and thus the number of vacation days actually used will be adjusted accordingly. This helps employees better understand their leave balance and avoids misunderstandings related to poor management of non-worked days.
